An annual scholarship award was established by the Help STOP the Silence Program in 2019 honoring an HAHS senior student who is reducing prejudice around mental illness, raising awareness of mental health issues at school, and encouraging help-seeking among their peers.
This student made an effort to stop the silence and to show their peers and the community that “It’s OK not to be OK”. It’s NOT Ok to stay that way.
A committee panel comprised of 4 HASD teachers and 3 HSTS volunteers reviewed all of the applicants essays which were submitted to them anonymously.
We are pleased to announce the inaugural winner of the “2019 SPEAK UP and REACH OUT Award” - In Memory of Kyle Koslop ...Sarah Myers (Pictured Center) 💚💙💜
